92 Buick Century Having 2 Problems

Hi everybody, I just joined the fourm and I am looking for help with a couple of problems. My first problem is that when I turn on the heat it starts out hot but then goes cold and the other problem is that I recently replace the drivers side switch with a new one and now the front driver's and passengers side windows do not work but the back ones still work. I'm thinking maybe the motors went or something i'm not sure does anybody have any input? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
