I have a friend trying to sell me a I think 91 or 92 integra. There arent any mods and i dont know much about the integras. I was wondering if there any common problems with integras that i should check. It has 140 k ,and id like to mod. Any help would work. Thanks

Re: Is it a good deal?
tegs are great reliable cars. basically the only thing you need to ask him is if he kept up on the maintenance.

Re: Is it a good deal?
Tegs are great cars for what they are, despite a noticeable Honda-esque lack of low end torque. Parts are fairly cheap, easily found and the cars respond well to bolt-ons. Turbo kits are readily available.

Re: Is it a good deal?
How many miles are they good for? Also what kind of power are thay capable of? (hp, and tq)

Re: Is it a good deal?
Mileage you'll get out of them depends on what mods you do and how hard you beat on the motor. My brother's GSR has something like 180K+ and still runs like new with I/H/E. If you go turbo without beefing up the internals or something like that, you might run into problems earlier on. You won't find many cars as reliable as Hondas, though. As far as hp goes, depending on how much money you are willing to spend, you can theoretically squeeze out as much as you really need. There were some incredible Integra track times posted here 2 years ago. Try a forum search if you're interested.

Re: Is it a good deal?
Hmm The only problems that i can think of our TIMING BELT. If its original i'd reccomend having it replaced because when they break on hondas/acuras it comes quite expensive! And the engine is usuall fairly damaged!
Integras may not have as much hp/tq as some newer and other cars, but the power that they make is RELIABLE. It will always be there from mile 1 to 100+K!! Also as long as you properly maintain them they will last a long time. My 1990 teg had 221K miles, engine ran like a charm but timing belt broke. just my imput hope its somewhat helpful! |
