Angry Anyone else have problems with front strut mounts.

Hi, my name is Dennis, i'm new to this site. I would just like to know if anyone else has problems with their front strut mounts? I've owned two sunfires, 96'(old), and a 99' (present). Both cars i've had to replace a numourous amount of times, 3 sets on the first and now the third set going on the 99'. The car is no longer under factory warrenty and by extended warrenty through auto sheild won't cover it.(lame). My question is how much does this part cost, and what kind of tools needed to do the job. Also the strut it self is covered through the warrenty, what if i claimed my strut was gone, don't you have to replace the whole assembly because you have to take the nut off the top and replace it with a new one. I have a buddy at the dealer do you think this would fly that way i could get the work done through warrenty? any ideas would be appriciated. One more thing, do any of you have rough cold starts? and suggestions to fix this problem?
Thanks for your time and answers.

Re: Anyone else have problems with front strut mounts.

You will need a spring compressor. I have a 2001 (just got it) and the front mounts where making a ee ee type noise. I sprayed them with a silicone type spray for rubber threw the rubber (under the hood) and the noise is gone (1 month and counting).

Brand new Mounts are 45 bucks... do not get mounts for a 2000+ becuase the are junk!...
tools required...
torque wrench
spring compressor
metric sockets..
alot of patientents....

you will need a new front end alignement afterwards.

dealership cost would be around 400 bucks for new part, labor and new alignment.

www.teamforwardmotion.com for step by step install...
