GT TDi engine stopped...why?
Whilst driving my Golf GT TDi,the battery cut out....so I started it again, but 2 miles down the road the engine cut out at 60mph (worryingly!) and the oil light came on (checked oil,and all ok).Could not start the car for about 10 mins. When I drove off....eventually....everything seemed ok.Then 10 mins into driving, the car engine seemed to jump and I thought it was about to happen again!!Why is it doing this?

Re: GT TDi engine stopped...why?
The oil light coming on after the engine stalls is normal, before it stalls is very bad. The TDI's have a common stalling problem usually caused by a faulty ECM power supply relay (it's the one with 109 printed on the top). VW has a new redesigned one. Also, make sure the fuel filter has been changed at the appropriate interval.
