94 jgc oil pressure sensor problem

hey buddies i have a 94 jgc laredo with 5.2l v8 and my oil press. ggauge on the dashboard suddenly stopped working and now only sometimes works. When it does work it only goes up to normal level right after starting up and the goes down to nothing and stays there. Its been doing this for some time and i aint losing oil and iwas wondering if anyone could tell me where this sensor is located so i can change it. Thanks.

The sensor on the 5.2 is located on back of the engine behind the intake manifold more towards the passenger side. It has a 2 wire terminal on top of the sensor. White wire is sensor signal, Light Blue is sensor ground.

Before you drive it too much you may want to make sure that it's really the gauge or sending unit that's not working. Mine acted just as you described. Unfortunately the gauge was working fine it was the oil pump that was crapping out. Good luck. I hope it's something simple. The oil pump is a PITA to change.

Well thanks. The gauge has been reading like that for about a month now. If the oil pump is bad in it would it have kept running this long. Also is there anyway to check it. Thanks buddy>
