Prelude Overhaul

I spent the past 5 months getting my H22A DOHC VTEC completely overhauled. I had everything completely stripped cleaned and mostly upgraded.
The Block:
Wiseco coated pistons 11.1 compression
Eagle H Beam Rods
Darton M.I.D. Sleeve kit Bored to 89mm.
Cometic Head gasket.

The Head stayed pretty much the same besides some crower retainers and all new exhaust and intake valve guides. And of course a valve job. I have an injen cold air intake, dc headers, vibrant high flow cat, catback greddy evo 2 exhaust, ACT pressure plate, clutch and flywheel.

so this is the problem...
the engine only has about 4000 miles on it and when i start it up it blows blue smoke. It only does it when the engine is first started. Is this a major problem or nothing to worry about? If so, who should i go kill?

Re: Prelude Overhaul

blue smoke is burning oil which is rings or valve guides

Blue smoke is primarily from internal engine wear. If it's constant when the engine is on, then the rings etc are worn and need to be replaced. If it only is blue when the engine is cold or first started, the rings are worn but not gone completely. You get the oil seeping during the night and it burns off when the car is started in the morning.

I copied and pasted that from another site - where the guy appeared to know what he was talking about...makes sense to me though.

Re: Prelude Overhaul

blue smoke is definitely oil burning, and from what I've been told I think what ludeguy posted sounds right. I think it could also have something to do with your valves, but i'm not 100% sure on that.
