1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Injectors

I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I replaced the seals on the fuel injectors to stop the leaking of gas but it didn't help. Any advice? Are new fuel injectors hard to replace? I called the dealership and they said aftermarket seals might be the cause of it still leaking......

That's pretty strange. Did you check the fuel pressure? Perhaps the pressure regulator is bad and pressure in the fuel rail is too high. My Haynes Manual indicates that with the regulator vacuum hose attached the fuel pressure should be 31-33 psi (39-41 with regulator vacuum hose disconnected). While I can't think of anything else that would cause that, I'm not certain what affect the electronic sequencing would have on leaks. My 93' JGC (4.0 liter) had almost 250K miles on it when I tipped her over and she never had a problem with the injectors. Good Luck.

There are 2 seals on each Injector sounds like you only replaced the ones on the fuel rail. You have to pull the Injector out to replace the bottom seal which fits in the manifold. That may be the cause of the leaking. To replace the bottom seals take a screwdriver and pry out the Injector. Replace the bottom seals and see if it solves your gas leaking.

I too have a 93. The problem happens when the car is cold (winter time). The solution is to replace the injector. There is an internal seal that leaks until it warms up. The only way to fix the leak is to replace the injector.
