Acura CL vs Acura TL vs Acura RL

Who'd win a 1/4 mile race? A 2005 Acura CL or 2005 Acura TL or 2005 Acura RL?

05 CL doesn't exist. they were discontinued at 04.

the TL with a 6 speed might win because the RL is probrably a good amount heavier and only has 30 more hp. however the RL's AWD will definitly help it get out of the hole faster. its really kinda hard to tell.

Re: Acura CL vs Acura TL vs Acura RL

So since it's clear (hopefully) that the '05 CL is not a real car and that '04 is the last year that they made the CL...let's compare the '04 CL Type S and the '05 TL Type S since that's the comparo we want...the '05 RL is...a bit heavier...

The weight diff between the CL and new TL is negligible...about 15-20 lbs is the difference. Odd huh?

Anyways in the jaunt to 60...the CL is a bit quicker but not by much....6.1 seconds vs. 6.3 seconds(R/T numbers)...

Re: Acura CL vs Acura TL vs Acura RL

The CL and TL should beat the RL in a drag race. The Super Handling AWD on the RL seems to be just for handling, considering Car and Driver could only get a 6.7 sec 0-60 out of it.

I'm sure the SH AWD is a great system, but it's probably wasted on a flagship luxury car like the RL. Most people who buy an RL aren't going to exploit the system and drive like it was meant to be used. It would have been a better idea to use it on the sportier TL, or better yet, the CL if it were still in production.

When I heard about the Sh awd the first thing I said was why didn't they put the in the TL first, because it really needs to lose the fwd format, and ppl who drive the TL will actually use the system...
