Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

At the request of John T, who wasn't happy with how his original thread got trashed with off topic comments and arguing, we are going for a fresh start on this one. Lets do a better job this time everyone.

= = = = = = = =

Here's my list along with photos of each to get the party started:

#011 - From the exterior, it's probably my favorite F1 ever. Just stunning!

LM3 - No introduction necessary!

#045 - Silver is nice, but this dark silver is beautiful. I liked the interior of this car too. I'll take it as is.

#051 - Similar in appearance to XP5, but I don't expect the factory will be selling that one.

Right-click, Copy Shortcut and paste into new browser window for Hi-Res 1976x2057 @ 3.8MB :22yikes:

XP4 - This just seems like the perfect color on the F1.

There's a few others that could probably fit the bill here - like chassis #018. I prefer the interior in that car to XP4s as well.

Honestly, answering this question is somewhat difficult because there aren't really and F1s that I dislike. There are a few other contenders that I left off like #072 the Jet Black HDF kitted F1, #038/#073/#075 which all look great in that unique orange color, and finally #040 the blue F1 with the high mirrors and dark wheels which is very unique without being offensive. It would certainly stand out at a gathering of other F1s.

If you are changing the rules Thorst, then look no further than the top of my list at #011. It does need a refit on the interior though - sorry not a fan of brown at all.

You're welcome!! Here's a cropped version of that photo - it's 1600x1200 and I got rid of the guy next to the car and also cleaned away some of the image artifacts for a much clearer photo. This link is clickable:

How about good old fasiond 065 or 068 prehaps the ultimate is 01R if im right in saying thats the lemans winner? If i had that kind of money i know i couldnt stop at just...... one looks like the KS-Autohandel car has gone that was nice to dam. Whish my lottery number numbers would hurry up and get drawn! anybody know what taylor and crawley has at the moment there advertising a silver car with just 1400 (miles) on the clock which i suspect might be new to the market is the dark blue car still there? Then theres the oakfields car 16r? my god i just cant cope its two hard i tell you ........ its just to hard.......

O while im at it anybody know if 011 is the same colour as the new minichamps model looks lighter in the photos but you can never really tell from them.

The new Minichamps model is much closer in color to XP4's color then to #011 in my opinion. AutoBarn made a 1/43rd scale version similar to #011 that we discussed here: 1/43rd scale version of chassis #011 - I'm in love!!

#065 & #068 are great choices. Between the two, I think #068 has the better silver color - it seems more vibrant in photos. The only reason there isn't a plain silver car on my list is they are just too many silver ones and I would want something distinctive if I owned an F1.

How about the road legal Gulf GTR if you want distanctive any info on that car it looks great? A black car M1 Mac or 007 (saw it at goodwood one year) would also be rather nice particually at night the ultime in stelth supercars in some ways i susspect. The F1 looks tiny on the road surrounded by outher trafic in real life in my opinion. One of the things that apeals to me about it. Used to go by 065 almost every day on my way to uni it looked great. Anybody think we could ever see a road legalised long tail racing car? That'd be cool.

Edit sounds like everybody here would be after an lm and im no exception but which would you go for XPlM LM3 or one of those mythical black ones?

Flipping coins

I've been flipping coins to see which one comes out on top. Since I am a high downforce type of guy XP4 ( I like the color) comes in third, with #011 second, and for me the slot in my garage would be occupied LM3. It's just the ultimate weapon when you go out to do battle on the streets. I would like to see one with a high downforce kit painted a deep black cherry color.

Wow
These are new F1 pics for me!
Thanks Peloton25 and Thorst13.

#045: Thats the one that was for sale at Newport Autosport. It was sold to someone in North California and now its Gary Schaevitz who owns the car. Very nice car indeed.

Its really hard to pick one F1, but I think #028 is my favorite. I love the color (red!) and the interior is acceptable. If I had #028, I would add the high downforce package and I would get the same kind of wheels that are on #069.

#028

#069, #011, LM3, and #073 are very nice too.

I would go for one of these two as the exterior colours are so good.

They both have really nice interiors too. I feel plain black leather is just so unremarkable when you have completely free rein with the colours - although sometimes trying to be different doesn't quite work (#061 - Mr Atkinson )

Re: Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

There's just one car that stands out of then all, and i think it's 075.
it''s the penultimate f1, the yquem colour has more depth in it than the kandy orange (judging by rare pics though :S) and the interior would probably be matching the exterior, black with orange or something.

the second best is of course the LM. It's faster and rawer than the original, but if one thinks that it is the ultimate f1 i think he's wrong because of that fact that the f1 explicitely wasn't build as a raw road racer. Refinement was high on the list when creating it, and without ever seeing hearing or driving one, you just know that the lm offers speed and excitement but it will lack the way the regular f1 is civilised.
The f1 was build as a car you could drive from london to the cote d'azur in genuine comfort, and the f1 can't do that

i certainly wouldnt its very very loud and more expensive than the regular cars for what is basicly the same car and driving experience. i like the refinekment of the road cars and if iwanted an lm or something liket hat i cna think of several other cars liek it. most probably i would get a custom built racer or ferrari 333sp or something. i suspect that even a viper gtsr that has been race preppred for le mans would give a similar ride and feel. or a f40lm. or even a lotus elise motorsport with a monster motor. those are very light and also have the seat in the middle. mclaren lm is cool but pointless. if you want to get an f1 and race it then you want a gtr. if you want a roadcar then you wnat an f1. lm is neither race car nor as refined as a road car and you pay more ??? mr. selldorff, would you care to comment? i guess you really like it. what do you like? is the difference in acceleration taht much that its worht the sacrifice in comfort over your black one? are there other performance characteristics that are also different and better in the lm? we would love to hear about those if possible.

or do you thinkits special cos it s one of only five in the world and the rest are pretty much locked up and lost to the world forever? ytes that makes the lm very special but also in which case the gt is even more special since theres only 3 of those altho i dont find them very good looking but if its the uniqueness that is special then certainly they are more unique and therefore more special and therefore perhaps worthy of an even higher price..

also i agree tha tthe planin blakc interiors are quite boring. much better to be imaginiative and do something nice and well coordinated. even silver hilghtlights in the black would be nice. or blue with orange inserts. or cream with some other color everythign seems to go with cream.

That guy you got rid of is Stanley Dickens, a former Le Mans winner. The picture is from a Swedish magazine from when he testdrives it. I'm sure you know that it's Tom Bryant-Meisners car. I've seen it live on a racing track, you probably remember that I've posted pictures from the event.
Anyway, I removed (most of) the noise from your cropped image:
http://img27.exs.cx/img27/9264/y0umclarenf1modcropc.jpg

And if I where to choose one I too would go for #011. It's stunning. I would also like to ask that people post pictures of the cars you are refering to, not all of us have a complete register of the F1:s.

2 things.

F1 monster i respect your opinion even if i disagree with it. No mater i think we should leve this argument here so we dont wreck this a secount time for John t we all have a right to our opinions and sould not run outher peoples choises down this is a posative threat about what YOU LIKE and not about running done anybody elses choises we should all respect one anouther and that goes for everyone hear we all love the F1 where all on the same side here remember and that goes for EVERYONE. I understand why this spat has come about and blame no one but lets leve it hear shall we its not fare on John t to wreck this thread to. So lets all just agree to differ shall we nobodys choses is above or below anybody elses we are all equal and all have our own prefrances the world would be dull as **** if we didnt so let's just leve it here shell we.

And lets not attack Mr Selldorff he is an important resourse who can get us nere to the reality of the F1 than anybody else here lets no attack his choises not least becouse he takes the time to respond to us and is vey courtious and honest. Not trying to be an ass kisser but i think his choses have been very good and eve if i didnt its up to him what he does and justification least of all to us is not required. Though i would like to hear how he fells about spent that much money on motors i feel i could easily justyfy and would like to know if he would do do in the same way of course its up to him what he wises to shae with us as he has alread been most gracefull so lets not p*** him of shell we its not nessacery. Rant over ill stop preaching now.
