Ram 3500 Cummins Info, Please...

I considering buying two pick ups this year, but I haven't made up my minds as to the brand. The trucks I'm considering are:
Dodge 3500 Cummins
Chevy/GMC 3500HD diesel
Ford F350 or F450 Diesel

All are crew cabs, all are duallies witj long beds, and at least 10K towing pkgs.

Any insight you can share that's based on fact, experience, and knowledge (not brand loyalty) would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Well Being A Chevy Man I'd Say The Dodge. Lots Of Towing Power Easy Power Upgrades. Not Fastest Off The Line Just Uphill Loaded.

You can hear the motor louder in a Dodge from the inside than you would in the other trucks. I've seen all of these trucks perform and they all look like they can pull pretty good.

Ah Yes Louder Outside Also. But 2005 Has Extremely Quiet And Normal Versions. And They All Can Tow But Having Used All Three Hauling Horses, The Boat And Slide In Camper (both Verifiable 4000 Lbs Each) And Lots Of Metal. The Dodge At Least In My Experience Works Lots Better And That Is Why I Bought One. The Engines In All Three Could Be 1,000,000 Mile Engines But Nobody Makes The Rest To Last That Long Anyway. Best Advice Is To Drive All Of Em And Choose The One That The Seat Most Closely Matches Your Seat.

That's the best advice I've heard so far.

I'm leaning toward the Dodge, mainly because of the Cummins. I really wanted an automatic, but I'm not sure that it would hold up. No problems with a manual, but I do a lot of in town driving too, and to be honest, I have no asperations of being Speed Racer, or Mr. Macho, I don't need to shift gears to stroke my ego. I find it easier to use and automatic. It allows me to use the phone and take notes, drink my coffee, eat breakfast, and all the other stuff we do while driving, instead of paying attention to the road.

Re: Ram 3500 Cummins Info, Please...

My neighbor has a 1996 Chevy with a 6.5 and a 5 speed and it has in upwards of 350k miles on the original motor and fuel pump. Has had a few clutches go through it, but it's a pretty good truck I think...

I'd go with the dodge the reason is the engine in these are built like in a simi infact they put them into some of the smaller trucks that we sell. the best thing about them is that they are built to be overhauled. we've had some in or shop that have topped 400,000 miles and still run. I think there the best
