Question Dtc P0121

I have a 1997 S-10 4 cylinder. It is getting bad fuel mileage and when scanned it comes up with code P0121 - TPS/Pedal Position Sensor A Ckt Range/Perf. Can someone tell me what I need to do to correct this problem ?

Thanks !!!

Do you have access to a DVOM? if so you may check the operation of the tp sensor at the throttle body by back probing the connector. You will be looking for a voltage of less the one volt at idle to about 5 volts at wide open throttle. Please check this with key on engine OFF! good luck. ( or you could just replace the tp sensor as a best guess, not that expensive)

Thumbs up Re: Dtc P0121

I changed the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and that appeared to have corrected the problem.

Thanks for the help !!!
