95 lt blazer question/problem

i have a 95 LT blazer with abt 115k on it.
when ever i put it in a gear, no matter whether its reverse or any of the drivies, i got a loud humming sound. when in park or neutral, the sound goes away. This sounds happends even when i shift in to 4x4 mode. The blazer drives fine and shifts in all gears correctly and has pleanty of power, the fluid is correct and is not burnt, and there no smell of burning after driving. i took it to a few mech and they cannt tell me whats wrong. Also when i hit 50 mph the sounds basicdally goes away until i get on the gas hard but has no effect on the car. i just want a few opponions before i take it to a tranny shop or what not.
please help

Hmmm....

Sounds like something to do with the transmission.

Have you ever had the transmission fluid changed, flushed and a new tranny filter installed?

blazer

the tranny fluid is clean and not burnt. i had 3 close mech. look at the car for me.... neither one of them can figure it out. the tranny runs awsome, no slips lots or power. when i drive it i can take it through all the gears and it shifts perfectly so i dont know..

by the way, does anyone happen to know if the 95 blazers have a low fuel light??? or what.
thanks

It could be shifting right, but the pumpm inside could be laboring pushing fluid though a plugged filter. That could be what is causing the whining noise. Just because it shifts right for now doesn't mean that something is wrong. The noise is a precursor to something having trouble.

I have a 1995 and I have not seen a low fuel light yet.

But, you should never run your tank that low either.

Re: 95 lt blazer question/problem

Price is not bad, just make sure thet it wasn't stored dry without fluid in it.

Make sure the filter is new along with a full flush on it.

BTW, you should service the one you have before you swap it out.

Try a flush fill and filter replacement before you swap.

Worse case snerario, you can reuse the new filter in the new transmission if the noise does not go away.
