240SX the new Civic?

I've been seeing alot of 240's around latley and they're getting more popular. I think it's mostly because of the new Drifting craze everyone is into, which has also made the AE86 popular too.

Is it me or is the 240 getting popular? And do you think it's going to be the next Civic?

Re: 240SX the new Civic?

next civic? hope not. the reputation a civic has on the street is not the same reputation we want the 240's to have.

i agree about the popularity of the 240 increasing. it is partially due to the 'drift craze,' that you mentioned. let's just not compare the two.. it's not even funny. They are both great cars... but in totally different perspectives.... one of them i respect.. the other i don't give a shit about.

Re: 240SX the new Civic?

well the 240 is already a hard car to find so i dont think it is. You can tell the difference between the civic typed 240's that have been riced out and the true 240's that are here to be good cars. I dont see any 240sx's around my city very often and it bothers me kinda, but it also tells me how happy i will be when i finally find the one im looking for and nobody around me has that type...I love the 240 and hope that it never turns into the civic...

Yeah, I really hope it doesn't turn out to be the next civic. They are totaly diffrent cars and I hope it stays that way and I hope to NOT see 240's ricein around.

But they are getting popular, along with the AE86.

Re: 240SX the new Civic?

for the 240 to turn into the civic sorta thing, we would need people putting crashed 240s back together and fix all the rusted ones so they're road-worthy cause there aren't enoug around. they're always gonna be something you don't see everyday, whereas the civic is something you are forced to see everyday

The already "Ricer" people arent gonna shift their momentum i dont think i think most of the ricing will stay in the Civics and Lancers(here in oklahoma there are so many Lancers!) those are no EVOs of course but its rediculous. I dont think it will ever happen. But we as a whole need the ricer because its almost the only thing that can make us feel two totally opposite things at once. Hysterical Laughter and Severe Disappointment.

Re: iunno

I have the only 240SX in my area. The only other one I've seen was on the highway near Boston. So many riced out civics and cavaliers around here, it makes me gag.

Re: 240SX the new Civic?

Well, civics aren't bad. I personally like them only because the fact that you can get their engines to spin high. For looks, it's terrible. For speed on the quarter mile, it's a great car. Plus, it's cheaper to get those to pick up speed rather than other huge cars.

As for the 180/240SX, they have some fairly decent body kits out there, and they make the perfect drift car. Yeah, I've started to notice them ever since the drift craze. But I doubt it is going to get as popular as the civics. Think about it, they arent making them anymore and there's no way for their popularity to grow bigger than it is right now.

I hope the ricers stick to the civics and leave the 240's alone some people out there are stupid enough to do that. It's funny out of all the cars i've seen around here except the mustangs and comraos and stuff allthe import cars have been ricers...it's sad.

The only cars that iv'e seen that hasn't been a ricer is a Eclips with a turbo and a Jetta with a turbo.

Re: 240SX the new Civic?

not possible.....you have to actually spend money on a 240, a civic you can buy a boatload of parts for 100 bux.

Yeah, stuff cost alot more for the 240's which I think is the reason why they aren't getting riced out.
