Things I hate....

Man... I play this game with respect... but some people just don't know how to play, even when they're very very good! I raced against this guy, he had a BNR32 with 1,500,xxx pts. and I raced him on Akina DH, Dry, with my 990,xxx pts. RPS13... he was a level 15 and i'm level 12.. well anyways, I never play boost on, but he put boost on, so I was like, whatever... the whole time he was playing, he was blocking me!!! I was like, DAMN!!! If boost was off, it would've been alot funner!!! I hate BOOST!!!

Re: Things I hate....

just 'cause he blocked you and left boost on doesn't mean he's being disrespectful. you're making yourself sound sorta ignorant. first off - points do NOT matter, same for battle/racer level. the rps13 is VERY good on akina not to mention it has one of the fastest start-ups in the game (for five-gear)... he was driving a 32 (one of the slowest start-up in the game.) on akina and you bitch about boost? if anything your being disrespectful to him. skylines and akina have NEVER went well with eachother, same for irohazaka.

for example, let's say an evoiv and a bnr34 raced on irohazaka, boost on. the 34 gets off the line, right? but that's about all the advantage he gets... the skyline doesn't turn well not to mention slow. so the skyline blocks, is that unfair? or disrespectful? no.

why boost? its more fun that way, when you lose the start boost off its basically over (unless the guy sucks or screws up) but the person in back is more likely to screw up than the person in front. so.. its useually a for sure thing if you get an rx-8 or gdb.

why block? its a game, play it the way you want but its not as challenging if you don't. races will never get as intense without it..

also hk/japan play with boost on and block.

Re: Things I hate....

id really isn't fun without boost though, quite lame actually...

screwing up = no chance of recovery.
boost off = less intense.
start-up = pwns
boost off = so hard to pass 'cause of blocking. its actually worse to block boost off than with boost on. hence with boost off you can squeeze them into the side when they try to pass thus losing speed. its hard to pass boost on or off, just with boost on when they cut you off its not of big as deal 'cause it doesn't count as a wall hit or lose speed.

but then again, if that's the only way people can win... i suppose that's all that matters to them? that's why so many people play the game unfairly. and fyi, skylines versus the 180sx on akina boost on or off is still very unfair. it sounds like you were being the disrespectful one...

Re: Things I hate....

Hmm.... true, true.. I didn't know the 32 wasn't too good on Akina DH dry... my apologies... I'll just put it at, I didn't drive/play good enough, if I did, I could've won... thanks

Re: Things I hate....

i think with boost on, you and your car doesnt performan as you would want to, but with boost on, you'll always have a chance. I like boost off, because this way PROVES who is the better driver, with boost on, its just proving that you either need help to get better or just trying to win.

Re: Things I hate....

with boost your car performs exactly the same, just with an added amount of speed. you still have the same turning radius as if you would normally, just with a higher speed (which is dependent on how far back you are)

no offense, that's sorta noobish thing to say. do you actually believe battle takes any skill what-so-ever? somebody could be battle level 31+ but still suck at time attack. boost off your cars weakness TRULY shows, not the drivers, THE CAR. boost on you STILL have weakness but its not as big boost off. i mean face the facts, its NOT just personal skill that wins battle. since the battle system has changed and the speeds have been lowered we are faced with two BIG problems that in fact, all people deal with. one - its harder to pass due to you can get EXACTY ON THEIR BUMPER. two - the speeds have been lowered, so your car generally can't fly past as easy. to deal with these factors and play boost off, six gear cars would be IDEAL.

honestly you said it yourself, boost on there is always a chance.. what is the point if there is no chance? is there any fun in that for the other person, if they have no chance? is there any skill in taking a car to its weak stage? is there any skill in taking a car that performs similar but has a faster start-up (rx-8 and sil80 on usui, for example)? no.

let's take friday's match-up, 180sx versus a r32 on akina. boost off, the 180sx would get the start and OUT PERFORM r-32 in every aspect there on out. meaning he could screw up and still have faster entrence and exit speeds than the r32. now let's take this match up, boost on. let's say somewhere down the track the r32 get's ahead, guess what? it performs like a NORMAL R32, boost off. so wall hits are very punishable and it cannot take the turns that fast. then the 180 get's boost, it can take the turns as fast as it could before with an ADDED boost. see how that is still unfair for the 32? even its boost on exit speeds could not exceed the home course car (trueno)

i mean even experts play boost on for a reason - two people, same skill, same car... who wins? the person who gets the start-up. even if the car differs but it is equally good on the stage...

so if you think battle boost on OR off is a measure of skill, think again, it means nothing. i actually think its disrespectful to play boost off just because of the unfair factors that are given to the person who loses the start (which we know, start-up has NOTHING to do with skill).

Re: Things I hate....

just a note... i live in HK...
people play boost off... mainly cause everyones pretty highly skilled.. no need to even things up with boost.
but some people DO block...which is kindof a mind game..
it gets the opponent frustated, thus they will have a chance of crashing.. but at the same time, the person blocking does have a gard time trying to block a decenet opponent without crashing out. So if u ask me... thats pretty fun and intense, especially playing tight tracks like Shomaru and Iro, where there slightest mistake will kill u~ peace~

Re: Things I hate....

list some names... i know there are a lot of fishers in hk/japan/singapore.

edit: your post makes no sense, if everyone is pretty evenly matched then explain how one would win? boost off. mind games really don't work that well, especially on experts so... it makes sense when your evenly skilled to play boost on. but unless i'm missing something here, please explain.

Re: Things I hate....

sorry if i wasnt too clear~
wat i was trying to say was dat people DO block, and unless someone makes a mistake through mind games, or just not playing well etc, then blocking would be a way to go.
get wat im saying now?
im not accounting difference in cars or tracks.

Re: Things I hate....

not really... i know people do block but you say that people play boost off, that is what's bothering me. i'm wondering who plays with boost off, list some names... or teams would be better.

friday, i know you don't like it but you really are opposing it for no reason... if you don't care who wins or loses then why not boost on? i mean honestly, it sounds like you'd be cool with it from what you've said.

Re: Things I hate....

boost on means you're either going to slow on that stage or YOUR SKILL/TECHNIQUE needs help.

Re: Things I hate....

Boost on=intense had a crazy crazy battle against an ae86. Everyturn we were overtaking eachother. Its funner I say. We were blocking but line blocking. We werent jumping in front of eachother trying to smash them into the railing. He was gaining and I set myself up for the best line while he had the crap. Anywho, point being. Boost on is the way to go.

Re: Things I hate....

boost on Myogi...YES! but IF you are playing for real for real, you either have boost on because you know you aint going to win and IF you're just playing for the hell of it, you should know who the winner is if YOU choose boost off...lol.
