1995 Camaro Fuel Pump Replacement???
All-
I have a 1995 Camaro that needs the fuel pump replaced. I am aware it is located in the fuel tank. I looked under my car and I can see the tank and it is all the way at the back of the car. I have read other threads and some are saying the rearend needs dropped. Does not look like it is above the rearend. But I only breifly looked. Is that the case on all camaros or just certain years. Can this be a one man job? Any info would be great and thanks! |

I had to have the fuel pump replaced in my first camaro, a 1995. It costed me $600. I doubt seriously that it's a one man job....but if you can do it and save some money (you probably won't be saving yourself a headache) go for it!

yup, sorry to say its above the axle, keep in mind its not going to drop easily, youll need room to manuver. and be careful to not break the filler neck. it is doable alone, but its gonna be a challenge, but with a floor jack, and such it is doable.

Re: 1995 Camaro Fuel Pump Replacement???
Well im not sure about it being so difficult. i mean i know it is but i say on efourm or help board where they talk about dutting a hole in the trunk above the fuel pump and puttng a latch and making a "minidoor" to the fuel pump. this seems really clever but risky too. but if you know how deep to go whencutting thenide say try that. but the fuel pump IS right above the rear end.

ok....maybe it is a doable one man repair....and maybe it's easy....i know my dad said that there was no way that he would change mine so i assumed it was pretty difficult. i was just guessing anyway lol
