89 tranny
I posted my crown vic for sale in the autotrader and on here, getting only responces from people who are not serious about purchasing the vehicle.
What runs everyone off is when I mention that O/D slips. I drove the car using only D. Seems like no one wants to buy it so now I`m thinking of fixing the transmission problem and using it again. Any one know what the usual prices are to repair or rebuild the tranny on a 89 CV? Is it worth repairing or rebuilding?

A good repair is going to run about $1,000.00 in and out. Most shops won't let you take it out or put it in, so your'e kinda stuck with that price. A better way is to find a running car that for whatever reason is less than the cost of the tranny rebuild, maybe a wreck, or a rotted out beast..

Re: 89 tranny
you can get the trans out rebuilt and back in for about $655 around here. Or you can find a working trans for $50-200 and if you want to pay for the in/out ~$180
These prices are normal for northern Indiana. where are you located? |

How much are you looking to get for the car? Prices out by me are around 50 to 200 for a used tranny as well.
