Sloshing Water Frozen!$%^

Hey, I posted awhile about the water sloshing back and forth in front of my dash, its been raining for about 4 days, and then we got 5 inches of snow, yes a blizzard in one evening, all the water is starting to freeze, when i take turns now i hear like chunks of ice and water sloshing now, its is VERY strange to hear. Everything is fine in my car, no leaks, no electrical problems. I spoke with a mechanic who says that weather stripping is only cosmetic and has nothing to do with preventing water from getting around a window. I don't believe that. I truely don't know what to do, mechanics don't know either. I am tempted to just dig into my car to find it. I am scared such a stupid little problem will cause serious damage to my car in the near future...

I would be concerned about hearing water and ice sloshing around. I believe a drain may be clogged up. Look downthe grate between the hood and the winshield, where the wiper blades are located. Debri like leaves twigs may have got past the grate and clogged up a drain. I believe only a couple of screws hold the grate in place. The wiper arms can be removed. Hope this helps.

Does the ice slosh sound go away as the car warms up inside?

I wonder if you aren't in the early stages of having your AC Condensation pan hose clog. The water may be freazing overnight. If the ice slosh goes away as you run the heater, this may be the problem.

What year is your car? As Cobra mentioned, you may also want to check the cowl. On the '97-'03 you don't have to remove the wiper arms to remove the cowl covers.

Re: Sloshing Water Frozen!$%^

Mine is a 1997 GP GT, and It sloshes regardless the temperature. It sloshes after rains or precip usually. During drought the sloshing goes away almost entirely. Any step by step for getting the cowl off to take a look in word be VERY useful for I am a newb.
