Set up Options....
What's up People
I want to do AutoCross, Curcuit racing on curve Tracks. I want to know what is a better set up for that kind of racing. I was thinking of Getting an RS Model, and Go with a N/a set up, so Power is more instant, for the short streches and curves. With a turbo, it would take time for it to spool up, and if it spools up on a curve, it might send me somewhere. With the N/a Set up, I would also be planning on running a small shot of nos with it, if I was wanting to drag it, about a 50 shot. And.... I also have another question, might seem a little off, Is the 4G63 Motor able to be turned into a N/a Set up? if it were to be done, would it be more potent than the 420a motor? Here's a List of the Options I'm considering in the future: -98 Eclipse RS 5spd, N/a set up with 50 shot of nos -98 Eclipse GS-T 5spd turned into a N/a set up with 50 shot of nos -98 Eclipse GS-T with a Full turbo Set up and an off the wall option -Get an 01 Toyota Corolla 5spd, N/a with Nos 50 shot Tell me what you all think would be best for AutoCross Racing |

Re: Set up Options....
Dont even consider NOS. If you do any SCCA/ or similar events they will not allow you to run. Get the 1st gen GSX. Drop the money that you were gonna spend on NOS, and put it into suspenion upgrades, harness, gauge's, and similar items. Dont even touch NOS. if you are worried about spool up time just put on a smaller turbo. The best car to start autocross is an older RX-7. they have their own class. everyone has pretty much identical cars, and they are alot of fun. plus their cheap to work on!

Re: Set up Options....
honestly of the ones you listed the corolla is probably the best autocross car. FWD DSM's are too poorly balanced to be good autocross cars and a GST probably wouldn't hold up on a track for very long.

I've been thinking more on the Corolla than eclipses, and the Nos would only be in the car if I were on the street, or drag. Thanks for all the feed back
