help
i have been working on a 200 impala and i am changing the plugs(go ahead laugh it up now) i can get the first three up front fine but i go under it i can get (frombottom view ) the right 2 plugs but the far one was a pain in the a$$ is there any easyier way to get them bottom ones it took e like three hours on the last one

put on the E-brake and shift the car to neutral.
Disconnect the two front wishbone engine supports, now you can rock the engine forward about 4+ inches. edit to add: I mean dog-bone, not wishbone. And emphasizing that the engine rocks much further forward if the car is in neutral. Last edited by kuhurdler; 12-05-2004 at 01:52 PM. |

either that or put a jack under the trans pan, remove the upper engine mounts, then jack up the trans to roll the engine forward

I don't think it's that hard to get to that you would have to do all that extra work to replace the spark plugs....

Yes, removal of the dogbones is standard proceedure on most GM front drive V6 engines when changing plugs. Good Luck.

just move the power pack and you can reach them jsut fine. I did! 4 bolts hold it on.
