weird instrument cluster problem

Hi this is my first post to the forum.
I'm having a strange problem with my instrument cluster on my 98 dodge caravan.
All of a sudden 1/2 of the digital odometer display and the PRND321
Which is the digital type isnt working.
I have 123000km or so on the van but the display reads only 230 km
and the transmission selector only lights up PNR...the D321 is not lit up either.
Also the "door ajar" indicator is allways lit and never goes out . (all doors properly closed).
Is this a common problem and if so, is there a fix for it- or could there be a loose connector somewhere.?

Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and reconnect. This forces the com modules to reset. See if this doesn't fix your problem. It worked for me.
