I have a 87 Max. The "Sensor" warning light is on. Does this light represent ALL sensors, or just O2?

Re:

- Its a warning "flag" ECU puts on as it detects any error. ECU is the computer controlling the fuel burning process (located just beside gas pedal). ECU has its own error leds, and they can be read to get the reason behind. Suggestion: Without knowing history or looking to ECU, I would replace spark plugs, distr cap & rotor, spark wirings, air&fuel filters [=std. maintenance]. Next take battery take cable off [clears ECU]. Put back on and drive. Light still on? Take all wiring connectors off, clean. Take all ctrl tubing (small ones) off, cut 1/4" from the brittle ends, put back. Next take battery take cable off [clears ECU]. Put back on and drive. Light still on? Take to somebody who can read ECU (or buy chilton manual and do it yourself). Replace in this order if ECU does not give an direct indication 1. TPS. 2. MAF 3. O2 sensor. 4. distr tacho... Lastly: Non: smo: king: is the king... PS. How can one attach some pics in here??? |
