Mclaren Ads?

Hi im very much a newbe have been working my way through past threads for a while now and this is my first thread. Pleas excuse my spelling and grammour i know they are very bad unfortunatily this is due to reasons out side of my control so plese be nice. Im woundering if anyone has scans of adverts featureing the mclaren f1. I know there was a bmw one featureing the F1 and BMW m3 and a kenwood one featuring a white f1 a scan of these would be most apreciated.

Thanks.

I can provide the first one for you later. I have uploaded it here before, but it's most likely gone now.

The second one seems vaguely familiar, but I believe the car in the Kenwood ad would have been the Clinic Model which at the time would have been silver and not white. If you are certain the car was white, then I have not seen that ad.

Welcome to the F1 forum btw!

Ok - back with the ad. This shot is clickable for a larger version.

Here's the only 'ad-like' think I have seen from Kenwood. It's really a poster. I've been foiled so far in my two attempts to snag one for myself unfortunately.

Kenwood also put out a wall calendar in 1995 with shots of an F1 for each month. They were the same photos taken of chassis #002 for the Autocar 'McLaren's Road Car' book that came as an insert one week in 1994 along with subscriptions to the magazine.

I don't have a shot or scan of the wax company ad that I can recall. Hopefully someone else can put that up for us.

Thumbs up

Thanks Peloton25 those scans were superd and thanks for the welcome. I thinks i remember seeing anouther kenwood ad featureing a white f1 on cobblestones think it was in what car my copy has long dissapered. Am still working my way through past threats so this may be nothing new. In driving ambation if i recall corectily it states something like "the production standard real lights were from an italion comercial source" That soure was well er........ a bova coach!!!!!!! have seen thess lights on the rear of a bova coach as well as reading this somewhere. Wounder if the F1 in the ad is XP3.

edit would also love scans from the autocar book if anyone has them think they many be on a previous thread but are no longer working i think.
plese check http://community.webshots.com/photo/...41968354iJvXaQ

for a coach with F1 rear lights i think there may be outhers!

I like the credit in the corner that reads "F1 courtesy of Herb Chambers" - that was the car I would have guessed it was.

That's interesting because McLaren Cars have always been supplied cleaning products by Autoglym.

No reason actually. The day I found it I put in my wallet, I just never took it out. There is some other wierd stuff in my wallet, but this is no place to discuss that now.

You're not supposed to carry those things in your wallet.

When I was younger (like 1988ish), I used to carry a laminated ad for a Ferrari 348ts in my wallet that I cut out of the Dupont Registry. The car was Blue Medio Metallic with a grey interior and it was for sale at Lake Forrest Sports Cars in Illinois. Damn how I wanted that car.

Hi Erik

I have the Kenwood F1 Calender from 1993(?) at home. I can confirm the car featured throughout is a white F1.

I'd be very interested in seeing that. Any chance you could snap some shots of it with a digital camera or something?

Assuming it is a 1993 calendar, the pics would have had to be taken in 1992. The only F1 that had been built to that point was XP1 which was unpainted, so the pics must be of the Clinic Model; though I have never heard/seen evidence that it was ever painted white.
