I'd rather an 05' Mustang over either of them, but between those two, I'd say the G35 Coupe is the better car.

it depends on what you want to do. but i would never pick a 05 mustang over a G35 coupe. your comparing a cheaply made american car with live axle to a luxury coupe with a style that will not get old.

to me the 05 mustang looked cool at first, but the more i see it, the more ugly it gets. it really did seem like ford has ran out of ideas and decided to take near carbon copies of the original and remake it. the tail lights on the stang is horrible as well. and the interior looks too kidish.

if you want to go fast in a straight line, go pick the mustang. that car looks too much like a kids car to me. and yes even though i like the EVO and the STi alot atleast they can get away with the looks mainly becasue all of the body work is functional. while the mustang always had false hood scoupes, and false side vents. why? i don't understand. it just makes the car seem soo much cheaper.

plus i've driven quit a few stangs, and most of them being only a year old will have worn out looking buttons, creaking interior, and the interior is totally falling apart. the car is built like utter crap. unbelievable that people pay for cars built like that.

i doubt the newer mustang will be built any better since the top of the line Lincoln Navagtor has some of the cheapest plastics i've ever seen put it a premium car. and the whole dash is built of one big piece of hollow plastic. go knock on any panel on a Navi and you will hear cheap hollowness with flakey interior false silver trim texture that feels like it will fade within month.

so i doubt a cheaper mustang will be built any bette. it will look nice in pictures, but just go out and actually feel the material and drive one and you will realize who crude it is.

Re: Overall, G35 coupe VS RX8

The RX-8 and the G35 are fairly different cars, but I'd go with the RX-8, mainly because of the easy-to-access and decently roomy rear seats, awesome styling, uniqueness factor, and incredible fun-to-drive.

G35 coupe no contest...the car has no flaws, it does everything well...the rx 8 has no torque, and on again, off again reliability, or so I've heard....

Re: Overall, G35 coupe VS RX8

I would pick the G35 coupe between these two, but like Dinan said above I would take an 05 GT over either of them. As for the cheapness Tat sites, each to their own but I disagree. And, it is worth mentioning that I both sold luxury cars and built interiors for Toyota/Lexus at differing points in my life so I can smell a cheap interior a mile away. I am about as jaded in reagards to a vehicles interior as you can get as nothing impresses me much anymore.

The materials in the new Mustang and F-150 are some of the same used in some Lexus' and high end Toyotas, as are the methods used to construct those materials. I would attribute the "cheapness" many folks claim to see in the newer Ford's interiors to a side-effect of an anti-Ford bias. Usually, when you really want to see something you will find a way to do just that. As for overall construction the new pony appears very well built indeed, and I have seeen my fair share of cars with ridiculously uniform gaps, etc.

On the other hand I do find it ironic that so many Nissan enthusiasts give Ford a hard time for their interiors when Nissan is currenty very weak in this area. Infiniti seems to get the good stuff, but in all sincerity I would not recomend the G35's cousin the 350Z if a cheap-looking interior is a problem for you. Even though I like the car if the Z car has a weak-spot it is the interior, as it does look kinda cheap for the money. And, unlike the Mustang which has received much praise from the press for it's interior this is a common criticism of the Z car and Nissans in general.

Just my two cents

i will admit that certain nissans have poorly built interiors. such as the nissan quest. that interior is absolute rubbish. and the Maxima's qaulity is kinda iffy. however i do not see any flaws real big flaws in the way the 350Z was built. the dash has a nice grain texture to it. the buttons are solid, the design is very modern with circular dials rather then the old style knobs. the only cheap part i can find in it is the cup holder, and that is because it folds in such a weird fashion that it looks flimsy and easily can be broken. the only real grip i have about the Z is the ridicously high belt line. you sit so low, yet the beltline is so high. since 'm kinda short (5'7") i could hardly see outside. howver the door panels have a nice grain to it as well.

i have driven the new F150's and yes i will admit that is probrably the only quality ford that i have driven. too bad i can not say the same about the new expedition, or the explorer. both of them use hollow plasics for the whole dash, and i'm not feeling the vents. they don't even rotate. but who knows, i 've never driven a 05 mustang yet so i can not truely say anything about it until i get a chance to drive it yet.

but from past experiences with mustangs. they were probrably the worst cars ever built period.

i've also driven a few new chevy cars such as the malibu, and they too are still lacking in quality. they just can't get it right. and the most rip off car is the Escalade. i mean holy crap, the wood grain is ridicously cheap looking, and the compartment doors aren't even trimed right. you can still feel the remaining edges on the side of each door. unbelievable that such a piece of trash can be so popular. its amazing how many peope don't look at these things when they fork over so much money to buy such a car.

not to mention the Hummer H2. probrably even worse then the Esclade. as your driving around and and your takin a corner, when the key's dangling from the ignition hits the dash, you'll hear a hollow knock. the car's interior feels like its built out of the same materials used to make a power wheel.

i've seen tooooooooo many poorly built american luxury cars and ordinary cars. the overall ratio of nicely built ameircan cars to imports is just tooooo low. the only way for them to convince me is for them to built a higher quality part.

oh yeah i forgot to mention the chrysler 300C another poorly made interior car with that terrible torqoise shell steering wheel, and the again cheap plastics at the compartment doors, and again i hear squeeks and rattles as i'm driving around a relatively new car.

i'd go with the g35 without hesitation. the 05 6 speed sport coupe packs 298 hp. can't say no to that. plus infiniti's customer service is incredible.

I'd go with the G35 coupe. You could probably get an RX8 cheaper than you could the Infiniti, but if you are willing to spend a little extra, it's worth it.

The G35 is a very sharp car and a whole lot more practicle then the RX8.

G35. Its more pracitcal, and more powerful (torque). PLus rotaries are unique to mazda, so you might HAVE to go to the dealer for maintenaine, which means more $$

Re: Overall, G35 coupe VS RX8

^ How about a little reasoning?

Personally i'd go for the G35. Better built interior, more torque, cleaner looks than the horribly over-stylised RX-8, and it doesn't have the same appetite for oil as the RX-8.
