Do you think this is a clutch slipping?

When I'm at 2k rpm, and I hit the gas and hold it down, it will rev up to about 3k rpm, the car will start to speed up a very little, then the rpm will drop back down to 2k rpm, and then the rpm and car will accelerate at the same time.

I actually HOPE it's a clutch problem, so now I have an excuse to buy a racing clutch now.

Re: Do you think this is a clutch slipping?

I just start a thread about that, i had same problem i just took it to the dealer and they told its my clutch and i need a new one and they told me that it will cost me $550 just for god damn labor and almost 400 for parts but luckly i now somebody that can do it for me and he is going to do it for 250 and my clutch was 568 with tax and that is the heavy duty street clutch from ACT.

Just go let somebody look at before u do anything, I was happy to that it was my clutch becaue i wanted to get a street clutch for a while. LOL

I'm not sure what clutch to get, I don't know what brands are good, etc etc.

Re: Do you think this is a clutch slipping?

I heard that ACT and RPS are one the best ones on are cars and I bought ACT. But all depends how u drive u car. If u drive you car everyday and u car dosent have like 500hp and then there is not really a point to go and go get a like 6 hub clutch and all u going to do is mess up your tranny, just look around. Go to importpoweronline.com and they got some ACT clutch.

Re: Do you think this is a clutch slipping?

well I am going to dump a bunch of money into my car next year and get it to 400-500 hp, so I might as well get a good clutch now rather than get a oem one and then upgrade again next year anyways

Re: Do you think this is a clutch slipping?

i didn't say ACT was, but I would need a clutch anyways, so instead of getting a stock replacement, and upgrading next year, might as well just get it now.

Just get a big street one rated for like 450hp or something.
