dropping my 02 silverado
i got my rims in today
22" katana azzad and i already have the rear dropped 2" with the shackles and it needs to go 2 more front and rear and need opinions or facts front = should i go with the dropped springs, dropped control arms, or dropped spindles rear = dropped hangers, or dropped leaf springs ? of course i'll be getting toxic drop shocks im kinda leaning towards the spindles and hangers i heard the dropped springs in the front throw off alignment and ball joints, and the control arms are expensive as shit, the spindles arent too bad in price, 319 a pair for the upper and lower control arms, its about 500 whats your suggestions, or Pro's & Cons |

I would go with either control arms or spindles. Many say control arms, but many others say spindles. Either way you cant really go wrong. I think for the sure fact of almost minimizing bump steer completely I would recommend McGaughy's spindles because it keeps the steering geometry straight. I dont have any experience with them, but have heard nothing but good things. Stay away from belltech spindles, they throw off your turning radius. If you go with control arms go with DJM.
Another thing, stay away from toxic shocks. Yea they may be cheap but spend extra money and get a better brand. Toxic shocks are notorious for blowouts. And I would recommend the hangers. Haven't talked to anyone with dropped leafs in the back. But the ride may be even more stiff if i were to imagine.

thanks guys... my tires are 305-40 R22, and i dont need to drop it after all, but for future reference, i'll keep your posts in mind... i do need rear shocks because i dropeed the rear 2 inches over the summer, and the ass end hops over bumps from the stiff ride.. so im gonna look around for some shocks, all i can find online is toxic.. but im gonna stay searching
thanks |
