question about a shift knob in my lude
Yeah I got a quick stupid little question here, how do I get this damn stock knob off without hurting the boot? I got a 98 SH and the knob in there doesn't want to come off at all and everytime I get close to getting it the boot goes with it and looks like its gonna tear. I think that I have to get the silver rong off below the knob but how? thanks for any imput

I'm pretty sure it's just a friction fit.
Grab the silver ring and pull down firmly, maybe twisting a bit back and forth. Should just slide off the bottom of the knob.

grab that silver ring and twist the boot counter-clockwise and it should pull loose from the knob. it does take a little bit of muscle to twist the knob off. it is a twist off. just pretend you're unscrewing a pickle jar or something. i wouldn't just pull the boot down.
