Best engine for 1997 EX coupe
I have a 1997 Civic EX coupe with a 5 speed and i have been looking around for different engine (and turbo?) setups for a month or two. What kind should i get and should i get a turbo or not. I would like about 250-300whp, more is always welcomed, but over 200whp would be awesome. If i do the engine swap, it is going to take a while since i have to pay for college and plan to build almost all of it myself. I would hope to buy a block that can handle a turbo, but if i have to beef it up a bit, that's ok too. The main engine i have considered is a B16A2 and besides that i don't have any other suggestions. I would like to stay under $5k if possible. THANKS!!

Re: Best engine for 1997 EX coupe
For your project I think B18B would be the best swap so that you can make it turbo also, or you can think of B20B from CR-V
THOSE ONE WOULD BE GOOD! |

Re: Best engine for 1997 EX coupe
the cheapest would be ls turbo. what ever motor you decide to go with b18c, b16a, b18b, you can turbo that motor to 300whp on the stock block and it will be ok, just dont try to push more then 300whp on teh stock block
