Where to get Lifters?!

Just got my 1995.5 Rodeo, 3.2L 4x4 with 153k on it, as a nice winter and utility truck. It had a small collapsed lifter noise when i got it, eventually got really damn loud. Marvels and other tricks haven't worked, so i'm diggin into the motor. I've been looking for the lifters online at sites like napa, but haven't found anything yet. Any suggestions on a good site with new lifters avaliable for a good price? Also any other recomended fixes (besides the obvious tune-up; air/fuel filter, plugs/wires) while i'm in the top part of the motor (assuming timing belt and tensioner). Thanks a lot, hoping to keeo this baby goin for the winter and next summer!

I had a lifter noise problem back when I had 99000 miles on the vehicle. Still covered under extended warranty. Dealer took almost a month to get the lifter parts from Isuzu. Very expensive, almost 3900.00 for the whole set, i think 32 lifter parts total. Not sure if Isuzu still have those parts stockpiled.

Uhm...I don't mean to sound really novice here...but I thought lifters are suspension componenets? Based on this discussion, its an engine part...can someone enlighten me and what exactly it is?....lol...

Re: Re: Where to get Lifters?!

Lifters are hydraulic components that are driven off of the camshaft. The lifters use the profile of the camshaft to"lift" the valves open and closed.

The technical name is hydraulic valve lash adjuster. They are small pistons that take up the slack (lash) between the valve stem & cam lobe. They do this by means of oil pressure.

G/luck
