I have a 84 chevy caprice and my left tail light won't work. The right hand side does work. Can I get some input on this problem. Thanx in advance.

Try wiggling the light bulb in its socket. You can get to the bulbs from behind when you open the trunk. This happenned to me. I just wiggled the bulb, and it started working again. There was some corrosion in the socket, or on the bulb. Might want to clean the socket out.

I did it and it worked. Thanks Rage..... but its odd though. I put a light in the socket both with a silver bottom and a gold bottom. The silver bottom was giving me a roough time because it didn't want to "click" in the socket where as gold one did. Oh well, thanx dude.

Re: 84 chevy caprice left tail light woes..
Bizumb,
Glad it worked. About the different bulbs and "clicking" : It sounds like the bulb with the silver bottom is the wrong one since it won't click into place. I've noticed that different brands of bulbs don't fit the same, even though they have the same number. RageCage |
