how long to warm up?

Just moved to Arkansas from florida........ It seems like it takes a long time to warm the car up when it is 30 degrees or so........probably 10 -15 minutes before i get real warm air and the fan slows down( on auto).
Is that about normal?

Old goat

By the way, in my younger days , I had a 67 GTO........one of my favorite cars, besides my 71 442............wish I had them both now. I found a 442 recently that was exactly like the one I had, color and all.
they wanted 30k.....................

Re: how long to warm up?

jim..early 70s 442 are my favorite style of that model. With inflation taken into account 30K isn't bad for for a 442 in really good shape. My goat is getting a little long in the tooth from the last going through. I figure it would take 30-35K to get it cherry again.

Check that the thermostat is not hanging up(partially open). Happens a lot and only takes a few minutes to R/R on a cool engine.

If I start my 02 the engine heats up in 3/4 of a mile. Or about 4 minutes at idle.
