Stereo Wiring Problem

Sorry about all these Questions I have but I figure you Guys are the Pros and would know how to "fix" just about anything Ok, here it goes again....We defiantley have a Stereo Wiring problem, after spending Hours of wiring and rewiring, trial and error etc., we finally got power to the system but NO sound i really doubt all the speakers are out, just doesn't make a peep we had taken the original tape deck out to put a CD player in, We just can't figure out what keeps it from working properly !!!! Any Ideas??? also there is this Black little box we found under the seat (not connected at the time)...no idea what it does but it seems to somehow connect to the wring harness by the foot pedal...almost seems like it bypasses the Alarm system, it has a wiring harness ( pig tails) on it and all it says on it is -1FA3 D- and last but not least, how does the heater come on neat car but seems like without manual your really lost. Thanks again......hope i get it all figured out soon

Re: Stereo Wiring Problem

did you buy aftermarket harnesses? or did you try and wire it in yourself? I bought an install kit that came with two wiring harnesses that plugged right into my factory wiring and everything worked fine..

the black box under the seat is an amp for the factory stereo.. Ive taken mine out since I put an aftermarket HU in and had no problems..

Check out

and go to the wiring section and then go to the radio.. Might help you out, what year is your car?

Yep, bypass the amp and you should be good to go. There are bypass harnesses for this and recomend it for the novice installers.

yeap, we got it figured out and it sounds great !!!! only problem now is when we have the lights on it plays for a few seconds and than goes silent even thou the stereo is still playing it must have something to do with the original "anti theft system" cause it plays just fine when the lights are off

Re: Stereo Wiring Problem

sounds like you some how got into the light circuit or something. There is an illumination wire in the radio harness.
