1997 Ford areostar 3 lt engine blown????
I just bought a 1997 areostar off this lady she said the motor blew a rod??? So she sold it cheap well anyways I took off the oil pan and everything is in place rods, pistons, ect. There was a few filings in the botton of the oil pan. It is a 3 litre engine I'm thinking it maybe a spun bearing does anyone know what else I should look for in regards to the filings in the bottom of the oil pan???I know quite a bit about engines but up until now I have just worked on chev's??? All and any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks BB

does it have push rods in the valve train? if so, it is possible that is what she meant. check the head and all related parts. hope that helps.
