Re: k20 hatch vs. 22psi evo8

not a repost on this site, but most def a repost on clubcivic. And yeah I kinda agree that that looks fake. It looks like that EVO wasnt even trying. And at 22lbs...yeah right. Maybe If it was a k24 block with k20 head....but still...dont think it would happen.

Re: k20 hatch vs. 22psi evo8

Considering there were cameras in both cars, the clip is, as far as i'm concerned, fake. An evo running 22 pounds would definitely keep up with a k20. Let me see it in person or lemme see what the engines are putting out and i might believe it

Re: k20 hatch vs. 22psi evo8

I don't know guys. I mean it wasn't a race from a stop, so that killed the advantage the Evo has when taking off. And you could clearly hear the Civic hitting vtec as well as shifting gears. But who knows, the civic might have some internal work done and the evo may have not been pushing 22psi. But also you have to think about the fact that the first month the Evo8 was out in the states, the faster one was doing low 11's. And now the fastest one in the US is doing low to mid 9's, and that's a full race car. Who knows.

Re: k20 hatch vs. 22psi evo8

go on k20a.org and tell the guy who runs hybrid racing and the owner of the grey civic its fake. that video seems legit to me, considering ive seen a video where a bmw m3 keeps up with a evo8 with 18psi off the line and kill it afterwards. all about power to weight. im pretty sure that eg is under 2500lbs, while the evo is like 3200lb-ish plus the parasitic drag of driving all four wheels.

Re: k20 hatch vs. 22psi evo8

I killed an evo in my hatch... I was at a redlight and it was at the car lot next to the red light, the light turned green and I almost lit up one tire, it kinda squeeked a little and I had to be going like 10mph when I shifted to second and it was all over from there.
