98 Belt Replacement HOW?

Ok, how do I replace the belt on my 3800 engine? When I try to remove the lower front Motor mount bolt & sleeve it hits the inner fender. There just is not enough room to allow the bolt & sleeve to be removed. What am I doing wrong? I also tried to move the mount with a crow-bar. Any advice?? thanks

Re: 98 Belt Replacement HOW?

I have the same problem on my 97 Park. I lowered the engine to clear the vertical bolt from the motor mount but by then the engine moved so far to the back of the engine that I could not slide the belt in between the engine and the motor mount. Does anyone have any help for us????

Re: 98 Belt Replacement HOW?

I had mine done at a shop and it took them quite some time to get it 4+ hours. I believe they said they had to remove the control arm to get it done.

If the inner fender is plastic, cut hole and apoxy it back on,how many times do think you'll have to change the belt?
