2005 Mustang

I took this from an ad, using Illy. Still trying to get coloring with layers of gradients and effects offered in Illy... like zig-zag for tire treads, a new grill (almost reminds me of the metal used for decking).

Still trying to get chrome and headlights (I really need to practice). Anyway, it's as close as my daughter will get to a Mustang for a long time. CC's always welcome. Robo

Re: 2005 Mustang

Nice. The colour above the wheel arch looks a bit wrong, and the shadow looks a bit squareish. Good job overall.

The grill looks kinda weird too me, and the bottom vents (why do they get lighter)? Good job tho!

Re: 2005 Mustang

Very nice as usual Robo. Great use of gradients to create reflections. Are renderings easier on illustrator or Photoshop?

Alex

Re: Re: 2005 Mustang

Alex.. It depends. I like Illy because of the vector lines, but Photoshop is easier and better to color. I still can't get (i don't understand) how to take a vector image to Photoshop, color it, then return it to Illustrator. If Illustrator had the ability to airbrush like Photoshop does, I'd be in heaven... until then, it's a living hell. I only wish i understood it like leemorris! I may be too old to learn new trick... thoroughly. I keep waiting for a hands-on class within a few hundred miles. thx.

Re: 2005 Mustang

robo, great effort. i cannot do anything near that in illy.
make sure you include a bit of the passenger's side headlight. it seems like at least a sliver of it would be seen in the view you have chosen.

The nose looks a little stubby to me, I think the hood comes to a little bit more of a point...and there's not enough fender before the door....the 05 Mustang really pulled the wheels out to the corners of the car to stretch the wheelbase, I think that might be the main cause of the snubby look
