resetting the check engine light

f150 check engine light f150 check engine light does anyone know, besides disconnecting the batt., how to reset the check engine light on a 2001 f150 4.6

On anything '96 and newer, you must use a scan tool. No, most code readers do not have this function, some do though.

No, it won't hurt. All that does is re-set the adaptive trans shifting etc., and clear the emissions testing history. It CANNOT clear codes.

Check engine lite off

Thanx MODMECH for the assisstance. I disconnected the batt. and the check engine lite went off, so I must have fixed my problem when I replaced the plugs.
