GEO makes thumpy sound on turn

Hi,Im hoping someone will know what these symptoms mean...I have a 94 Geo Prizm,brand new motor..first,it made a swoshing sound ,as the tires turned.A friend said it was the brakes and replaced them...now its a new sound,,a squeek with a thump when I make a right hand turn mostley on looong turnes,if I let off the gas it stops.its a 5 speed.. the sound has rythum,,,sort of like when a person runs over those little yellow reflecter tabs that run along the road..the faster I go,the faster the thumpy squeek..I dont want to be at the mercy of an auto shop,without some kind of knoweldge ,,,Id like to tell them what to check....if I only knew .....??...know what I mean,Vern?? Please advise

cv joints?

I drive my car very heavily (96 lsi prizm) My driver side bearings keep going out almost yearly. Check these first, it should be your problem.

Reach up under the car and grab ahold of the drive axle(cv shaft) and check them for play. By chance along with that noise do you feel anything like a vibrition?
