2.2L exhaust help
I am swapping in a h22 and I have DC headers, Aem Cam gears, MSD sci box, SS blaster (external-mod), Injen C.A.I., and a MAgnaflow 2 1/4" high flow custom cat back from when I had my h23 in there. I am wondering to achieve the best perfomance possible should I stick with my 2 1/4" cat-back or should I bump it up to 2 1/2" ? please, any help would be appreciated. Also The bottom part of the dc header I got is really scrapped up but the top parts perfect. Where can I get a new down pipe (I think thats what there called, right) at and how much do they run?

Re: 2.2L exhaust help
well i think that 2 1/4'' is fine if ur not going to get a turbo. but if u are i would run like a 3'' cat back with a 3'' downpipe. as far as where to get a downpipe call ur local automotive shops and see if they can make u one and if not where can u order them, that would be the best thing to do in my opinion.

Re: 2.2L exhaust help
Your DC-S header wont work with your H22A anyways; just use the stock H22 exhaust manifold and downpipe. You may even need to extend your current custom catback system to work with the H22 exhaust system.

Sup,
I have a 98 Lude and use a 2 1/2 in catback system from Thermal with a 1 piece DC sports header. I notice a difference but its nothing spactacular. I use a stock cat which I think hinders the system. I would say what you have is sufficient unless you go to a turbo. However my experience isn't alot, I just base the system I have off what I use to have. |
