Timing Belt

i have a 1995 325i and i just hit 60k miles on it and i've read that you should change your timing belt at around 50k-60k miles, but i've heard people say that they don't even put timing belts in a 95's so i'm not sure what to do.

Re: Timing Belt

the m50 in your car has a timing belt.

http://www.bmwworld.com/engines/m50.htm

i think that you dont have to change the chain for much longer than that, and maybe not at all under normal conditions, but again, i am not sure at all.

i am sure tho that the interval of 60k miles is for the M20 engine in the previous 3er, which featured a timing belt

Re: Timing Belt

This is from roadfly. it is talking about the 5er, but used the same engine, thus the information is the same.
