96 Camry pull-out antenna broken
I don't have the power antenna, but the one which is located on top of the car above the driver's head. The thing is broken and the radio reception sucks. Constant static is all I get.
How easy is it to take the old one out and put another one in? I got one for $5 from a junk yard car but it took me a while to get it out. Radio may have to come out to disconnect the antenna plug in the back of it. Has anyone done something like this before? |

Re: 96 Camry pull-out antenna broken
Hi,
My 92 DLX has the same problem. I talked to my local Toyota Dealer and they said it would be an hour of laybor. Im still waiting for my antenna online. I paid $35.00 for it. I know the guy at the dealer and he said its quite a task. |

Re: 96 Camry pull-out antenna broken
It's not really an easy job, mainly because the whole thing has to come out, and the wire has to be routed down the pillar and along the firewall into the dash. This takes quite a bit of craft to get it right. I wouldn't really recommend this job to the do it yourselfer unless you're really expereinced, or you have some kind of certification.
