Screwy Electrical?
Hiya! I'm new and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my problem. Here's what happened:
Turned off the ignition. Heard the "your headlights are still on you dummy" chimes for a split second but my headlights weren't on. Started car again and made right turn. Right turn signal make fast ticky-ticky noise but the arrow didn't show on the display. Figured I had a bad bulb. Nope, neither front nor back was blinking. Both bulbs are fine. Replaced flasher module (round silver thingy). Suddenly a new problem develops. Alas, the right turn signal works but only when headlights are off! When I turn the headlights on the bulbs stop flashing and it makes same fast ticky-ticky noise as before. Left turn signal is fine. As an added bonus, my middle brake light on my spoiler now comes on when I turn headlights on and it blinks when right turn signal is used. What the heck happened and how do I fix it??? I haven't touched any wiring whatsoever unless it was bumped during the installation of the flasher. Please help, I'm terrified to drive the darn thing now. |

Nope. Haven't changed a thing in the last seven years I've owned it! Could I have screwed something up while under the dash? I have an after market alarm that's down under there as well. Could bumping that have anything to do with my dilemma?

Re: Screwy Electrical?
welcome to the forums!
a fast ticky-ticky noise eh? i assume you dont have daytime running lights or a factory alarm?? go back and check the wiring on the flasher, make sure its all good.. look around under the steering column, see if there is any ground wires or harnesses you might have bumped.. You can also try unplugging the harnesses on your alarm and see if that helps at all..
