Question 1992 F250 Tranmission quiestion

I just picked up a project truck it is a 1992 F-250 2wd 300 -6 cyl.It did not come with the autotrans,is there anyway to tell from the vin what trans it needs? It does not have the button on the shifter for the o/d kick out so i dont think it is the aode?

I think it would be the C6 auto trans. Not 100% sure though.

AOD or C-6, look at the build sticker on the driver's door edge under "TR".
