Rotors

Hi firts time to this site hope someone can steer me in the right direction.
1996 chevy suburban 4x4 2500 8600 gvw, went to change the rotors and got into trouble how does the rotor come out?????? Here is what I did took out nut holding front drive shaft, beat on rotor to come off and no luck. How does that rotor come off or do I just need a bigger hammer

The hub and rotor are one assembly. you will have to remove the axle shaft nut, disconnect the jumper for the ABS and remove the 4 bolts that hold the hub to the spindle.
To remove the rotor from the hub you will need to press the lugs out.
The only thing you accomplished by beating on the rotor was warping the hell out of it.
I recommend that you get a Haynes or other repair manual before you damage something.

Thanks for the feed back, now that look at the parts it makes since.

I do have a Book on the my suburban and it gives very different instructions on rotor removal.

Is it normal to get some miss information out of these books (maybe another threat later?)
