Unhappy wipers not working

my 97 gmc wipers don't work all the time. i turn them on and somethimes they don't come on i know of a recall but don't have a print out of the recall or the recall #

I don't think you need the recall info , call up a local dealer and talk to them in the service dept about it to make an appt. or you could fix it your self , it is easy enough. If you want to attempt this your self , make a post in the silverado forum about it and I or someone will get you the instructions

i have a gmc that had a simular problem and it was not in the recall. but it is simple to replace. there is a control board inside the wiper motor that controls the delay and all. it is that circuit board that has gone bad. if it is not on the recall list, just get the board adn do it yourself. it is easy.
4 or 6 screws remove, remove cover, remove old board and install new board, then put cover back on. that's all there is to it.
