Remove Stuck CD
I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx with a single in-dash CD player. Anyone know how to eject a stuck CD? Its a CD that I recorded myself with no label on it to get stuck. WHen I hit the eject button it says there is no CD in there, but there is. And it doesn't play either. It was playing fine until I hit the mute button, then I played the radio, and tried to go back to the CD...but now it won't play. Short of going back to the dealer, any suggestions. thanks, Rob Mahoney

Re: Remove Stuck CD
I am a 2005 Malibu Maxx owner. This just happened to me. Did you ever get the CD out or did you have to take it to the dealer, and did it happen more than once. By the way, my CD is a burnt Cd with now label also. Thanks, my email is [email protected]. -Nado11

Re: Remove Stuck CD
I have also had this problem. I took it into the dealership to have it removed; under warranty of course - I mean, why should I damage my CD to get it out? They told me I should only use CDs that are to 'spec'. They could not tell me if they meant Red Book (pressed CD) or Orange Book (burned CD) they just said 'spec' (whatever that means).
The CD I had trouble with was CDRW and I had it in the player for almost a week (switching between radio and CD) before the problem occured. I have not had issue with the CDRs though I do use mainly good quality CDRs. Some of the cheaper CDRs tend to skip on me though. I have not tried a CDRW since. |
