So I heard that the motor in the 240sx was pulled out of another Nissan which was a truck. Is this true and if so what year truck and model??
Thanks. |

completely false
the ka24de was first used in a production vehicle in the 240sx back in 1991 truck motors use a different intake manifold and have throttle body injection I believe. Also a lot of the trucks used the SOHC motor when the 240sx was running the DOHC motor, I do not know what years are associated with what engine in the trucks. I also do not know if the truck engines bottom ends are built with the same materials and parts as the 240sx motor, would be something nice to find out. whoever says the KA24de is a truck motor is a nazi sr20 propaganda spreading jdm tyte elite person who fears the almighty KA-T and its extra .4L of displacement, along with the iron block and valvetrain design(cough Ricky Chu and Super Street). |

Ok so what about this?
Looked around and found this...
http://www.autoeducation.com/alldata/Nissan-Datsun.html So as far as I can tell the first engine, being the KA24E, was in several cars, and if you look at the second one the same motor is listed in 89 in the D21. The KA24DE was used in the late 90's for the Frontier. So while my source was wrong, they did still use the motor in Trucks. Apparently do the the engines good Torque ratio if I'm not mistaken. Either I agree I have no clue what the comparisons are on the bottom end of the engine then. But it would be kinda cool to see if it would work since one of the later Frontiers was a 4wd. Like most things if you have the money for it, then anything is possiable. Kinda wonder what a swap like that would be like.
