Question No Tail Lights!

Hello All,

I recently put a hitch and wiring system on my 2001 Sportage and I was pulling a trailor and I noticed that after a while my tails lights went out.
I had brake lights and signal lights ok but no tail lights!

I checked the fuse box under the steering wheel and all the fuses were ok.

I heard that there was another fuse box under the hood somewhere? Anyone know about this or got any other suggestions for me?!

Thanks

Dean

here is a fuse box under the hood. Its on the passenger side right between the battery and the coolent resivoir. Cap basically lifts of (week plastic clip type tabs).

I'm not sure exactly what all the fuses are for off the top of my head but they are labeled. I do know I have one in there that likes to wiggle loose and kill power to my starter. (I'm thinking about taking it out when needed as an immobilizer).

Hopefully thats all the problem is. Good luck.

Warren

I had the same problem on my 99. after tearing virtually every wire out I found the license plate light was shorted out where the harness goes through the bumper. Hope this helps
