Question 95 Jimmy vaccum leak ????

Hey, I have a 95 Jimmy 4.3 Vortec and was having multiple problems until i changed the cpi now i just have one. Before changing the cpi i had terrible gas mileage, rotten smell from exhaust and SES light, and also while driving at a constant 60 the engine will rev up and down. TACH will bounce from 1700-2000 rpm. After i found a leaky cpi and fuel lines i replaced them and all problems but engine rev were fixed. While putting the hoses on the back of the plenum i followed the smaller of the two back to a T and found that one of the hoses was not attached to anything and will suck air. I however cant for the life of me figure out where it leads or goes. Its only about ten inches long so it would seem like it shouldn't be to hard to locate. Any help would be appreciated with locating where that line goes or with other ideas that are causing the non constant engine speed. Thanks

Ah, perfect, that is what I needed, that is definitely a vacuum leak.

That hose attaches to the back side of that round black vacuum ball you see there.

There is a nipple there you push the hose onto.

Reset the computer by pulling the negative battery cable for 10 minutes to reset everything.

I noticed today because it was raining that underneath my car i have a slick where it appears i have feul leaking. It appears to be towards the front of the engine but who knows once things start running down hoses or other lines. Are there fuel lines around there that could have gotten damaged.

I would check the CPI and the nut kit again.

Also, smell your oil and see if you smell fuel or it is thinned out a lot.

I truly hope he didn't cross thread the fuel lines when he put in the nut kit.

Re: 95 Jimmy vaccum leak ????

Pretty hard to. The nut kit is pretty stiff and is preformed to fix one way.
