diagnostic tools, readers, & manuals

I have realized that I almost have no choice but to be more "hands on" with my Astro. 2 different dealers here I tried, just worthless...

I am wondering about different type of code readers, what are other people using? I've seen price ranges all over the place, differnet type of software.... has anyone had any good/bad experiences with the low/midrange price stuff?

The only manual I can find is the dealer issue for about $150, I WILL be getting that, had one for my s-10, only used it like twice but it paid for itself once. Is there any other people putting out manuals I should also get?

Rick

Re: diagnostic tools, readers, & manuals

Can't help on the code readers. I've always used just bent paper clip for my cars...

For the manuals you need, try www.factoryautomanuals.com

Haynes puts out a good manual for most general repairs, somtimes you have to rely on experience to read between the lines because they try and cover too many model years in one book. But for only $20.00 Cdn,
these manuals are all I have ever used to fix my cars.
As far as code readers I have Digital OBDII Sells for $250.00 Cdn. Works well on all 1996 and newer vehicles. Go to www.codereader.com.

What kind of problems are you having with you Astro, Maybe we can help.
