Cabin Filter for 97 GP GT

I have a 97 GP GT 3800 and I'm interested in installing a cabin filter in it. I know that cabin filters do not come installed on this year. However, I have heard that there is space to accomodate one. How is this done and where? Any links to explain? Thanks in advance...

Check this out...

I've been meaning to check if my GTP's got one, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Lemme know how it goes.

Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated. The link you gave me, does this specifically show the filter I need? Where can I obtain one? Thanks again.

Sorry but it wount work on 97s.Our 97s have a different cowl design and the filter wount fit.If you look at the picture you can see how the 98 and up are shaped, then go and look under the cowl and see the difference on the 97s.

After doing some research and finally getting around to it, the trick is to purchase a cabin filter for a 97 Buick Regal, it will fit the 97 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Buick use's the same part # from 97 thru 2004, AC-Delco CF132,Wix 24780,Bosch 3720,Fram CF8392.And none of them fit in a 97 GP.Been there and tried that before

Purolator part# C252445 "Cabin Air Filter" from Advance Auto Parts for 1997 Buick Regal LS, fit my 97 Pontiac Grand Prix perfectly. Sorry I wasn't more specific on the part name and number back there on my last reply.

I know you haven't been around here for too long. So, let me tell you. When Big-L gets that "tone" in his writting, he's never wrong.
If it makes you feel better, buy the filter. Try it. I will tell you, it won't fit. Then we can put this thread to sleep, AGAIN.

Jon after reading some post's at clubgp, it sound's as if there were 2 different cowl design's in 97,1 being early and the other being late model 97.You sir are the lucky one Glad it worked out for you.
